Stewardship and not ownership
Is it possible for Christians to focus on what GOD created them to be? Is it possible for Christians to truly be without the fear of ‘what shall we eat?’ or ‘what shall we drink?’, or ‘would we be able to pay the bills, let alone retire?’ Can Christians truly live a life similar to the birds in the air and the flowers in the field? Can Christians truly be free and live by another set of rules than those of the world?
Let us read what Jesus Christ said regarding this topic.
Matthew 6:24-34 (NKJV)
“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. (25) “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? (26) Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? (27) Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? (28) So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; (29) and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. (30) Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? (31) Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ (32) For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. (33) But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. (34) Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
The answer is simple and logical: No!
The life described by Jesus Christ in the above scripture is almost impossible in this day and age (or any other time for that matter). The rich have always been rich, and the poor have always been poor; no matter how much you believe or “speak life” over your circumstances, it will not change. This is because the world’s economy (South Africa’s included) is set up in such a way that a minority owns all the wealth while the majority lives in poverty.
Did you know that the richest ten percent of South Africans own more than seventy percent of the net financial assets in the country?
Did you know that the World Bank rated South Africa as the world’s most unequal country? Yet there are over forty million Christians in a country with only 56.52 million people.
Oh, faith! Show me your works! Looking at the works of the Christians of South Africa, what do you think their faith is? Inequality!
But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. (19) You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe–and tremble! (20) But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?
No amount of charity, Christian gatherings, women’s and men’s conferences or retreats, gospel music shows, or social outreaches will change this inequality. This is because the inequality is produced by a financial structure, built by Christians over many years and still in place today. It is what you do from a Monday to a Friday to a Sunday that shows what you put your faith in, not what you do on a Saturday or Sunday morning! This is your reasonable service – I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service (Rom 12:1) – it is an all-day, everyday lifestyle!
Again, I say: Oh faith, show me your works! Haven’t we as Christians been working hard the last three hundred and fifty (plus) years in building this machine of inequality?
How wicked is this generation that we can support Christian charities and gatherings over the weekend (which has dramatically increased over the years) while building, establishing and teaching our children a system of inequality from a Monday to a Friday?
The question begs: where are the fathers of the church? Our fathers have made a mockery of GOD. GOD is made manifest as a very unequal and selfish GOD that lives only for HIMSELF. Our church fathers have revealed their faith through their works. Our church fathers cannot be bothered to change the system. How can we say this? We say this because the church has done nothing to show us the opposite. They had more than three hundred and fifty years to build a system that would make us free but instead, they built a system that enslaved us, therefore, no Matthew 6 is possible for us.
CEO’s are Christians. Government officials are Christians. Shareholders are Christians. Company owners are Christians. Politicians are Christians… and all these people go to church (almost) every Sunday where they are guided by a spiritual father that should have taught them how to manifest GOD and HIS Kingdom on earth, as opposed to each building his own empire.
GOD does not bless you with money so that you can become richer and financially secure in this system of inequality. This would result in the poor getting poorer as the rich become richer. GOD does not impoverish most of HIS children in order to enrich a select few of HIS children. This is blasphemous, yet we still believe this and give praise to Jesus when we become financially secure. For you to become financially secure it means that somebody else, or even a group of people, are less financially secure – hence the most financially unequal country in the world (of which eighty percent are Christians).
No, GOD will only bless HIMSELF and HIS Kingdom, of which everyone can choose to be a part of. GOD will not exclude you from HIS Kingdom, but you will have to adhere to GOD’s ways and not yours and the world’s ways anymore. It is impossible to self-gain in the Kingdom because you do not own anything anymore but live a life as a steward only.
1 Corinthians 4:1-2
Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. (2) Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.
1 Corinthians 9:17-18
For if I do this willingly, I have a reward; but if against my will, I have been entrusted with a stewardship. (18) What is my reward then? That when I preach the gospel, I may present the gospel of Christ without charge, that I may not abuse my authority in the gospel.
The church has brought great shame to the Name of GOD through their works. The state of our nation is not because of politics, but because of a fatherless church that did not teach us the principles of the Kingdom of Heaven. Please keep in mind that politicians are also Christians, supposedly with a spiritual father giving spiritual guidance to manifest the Kingdom of GOD on earth. But did that happen? No, it did not. In fact, the church sold their firstborn right for a morsel of food.
Is there hope? With GOD, always. Is there a solution? Yes, GOD’s Kingdom. Is it going to cost you everything? Without a doubt. We must show our faith with our works from now on, Monday to Sunday.
Let us move on to a true father
What defines a true father? What defined Abraham, to be called the “Father of Nations” by GOD?
It is their ability to obey the instruction of GOD at all cost.
It is their ability to give up their most cherished possession, received from GOD, and return it to GOD without any guarantee of ever seeing that possession again.
It is their ability to live for the next generation, not just their own flesh and blood, but all of those who are in Christ. They live without fear; their obedience towards GOD is your safety and their unconditional love for GOD your comfort.
Xandré Strydom is just that! With him we are safe because he is not for us, he is for GOD! He does not do the will of men; he does the will of GOD. As a result of his obedience the last couple of years, many ‘Isaacs’ can now inherit their GOD-given firstborn right.
With Xandré taking up his place as the first ‘Abraham’ for us, men like Tar Eloff could take up their spiritual appointments as ‘Abrahams’ and through their actions – by giving up their GOD-given businesses and land – they managed to establish a ‘portion’ for all those who are in Christ. They did not shy away when GOD instructed them to ‘go up the mountain to sacrifice that what they hold dear’. These men endured ridicule and scorn from family and friends that ‘felt betrayed’ because ‘their’ inheritance was laid on the altar as if their dad’s belongings already belonged to them and they could not appreciate what GOD was doing through their fathers to create a homeland where all could inherit.
When you only live for yourself it is impossible to adhere to the will and instruction of GOD. But when you live as a living sacrifice and realise that you are a member of a body much bigger than you and your family, a member of a spiritual body, only then are you able to fulfil your function in Christ.
This is a basic kingdom principle whereby all Christians should live. Unfortunately, this is the very same principle that angered wives, children, parents, and family who could not stand the fact that they would not solely benefit from the wealth generated by individuals such as Tar Eloff.
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. (2) And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (3) For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. (4) For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, (5) so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.
These men – along with Xandré, their spiritual father – did exactly this by laying down their lives to serve the body and to create a new structure, a ‘home country’ where Matthew 6 can be made manifest. Their actions confirmed their faith in a territory where GOD can implement and establish HIS kingdom principles on the earth as already established in Heaven – a territory that GOD can truly bless, a territory that GOD can truly call: “Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you” (Heb 6:14).
A Homeland – GOD’s Commonwealth
Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude–innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore. (13) These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. (14) For those who say such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland.
Enoch, Noah and even Abraham were called “strangers and pilgrims” on earth seeking a homeland. They sought a homeland overflowing with milk and honey, a homeland identified by righteous (milk) people with righteous actions and a kingdom (honey) governed by kingdom principles and laws (literally). There you will find GOD and there you will find HIS Sons living like the birds in the air and the flowers in the field. Faith in action – the faith of the righteous confirmed with actions – will manifest the Kingdom of GOD on earth and make GOD visible on earth.
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, (9) not of works, lest anyone should boast. (10) For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (11) Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh–who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands– (12) that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.
Through faith, we as Christians have become citizens of GOD’s Kingdom and this citizenship comes with rights, responsibilities and privileges. Or in other words, the covenant that GOD made with us binds us to live according to HIS will and ways. Why? Because as HIS wife we must only give birth to HIS seed (HIS will, desires and HIS way of thinking). This is the only purpose of the church.
In this homeland, with its Kingdom citizenship, we are all equal in value but different in function. In plain English, nobody is rich, and nobody is poor, nobody’s income is calculated according to his job description. This basic principle enables a Son of GOD to focus on his/her GOD-given function to the benefit of the Kingdom and its citizens. Now all that remains is to raise/ generate Sons of GOD.
Let me explain: business people make money, preachers preach, musicians make music, teachers teach, and artists create art. In function, they are equal contributors to the Kingdom and therefore will have the same benefits in the Kingdom. All these people give unconditionally and cannot ‘claim’ their function for themselves. They cannot abuse their functions to create wealth for themselves only, their functions are for the benefit of the Kingdom. For example, preachers preach one hundred percent of what GOD tells them to preach for the benefit of all the citizens of the country, likewise, businessmen bring all the money generated by their functions to the Kingdom for the benefit of all its citizens, and so forth.
These are unselfish, righteous actions that enable citizens of the Kingdom to become what GOD has called them to be, without hindrance. The objective is definitely not equal income (because that would create a ‘slave’ mentality), the objective is to become what GOD made you to be. You will love waking up because you will love ‘that thing you do’, which is your function, and you will get to do it every day. You will live to serve and give your function with love and passion.
Can you see the righteous effect of this homeland? Businessmen will not make unrighteous decisions anymore; there will be no point to making shady business deals because the cash generated will not be for their own pockets, furthermore it will only bring shame to the Name of GOD because they represent the Kingdom. Therefore, we all have to mature from children to Sons of GOD, because a Son represents HIS Father’s house accurately whereas a child will make foolish decisions. (Please read all our articles on this.)
So, the burning question is: who owns what?
Firstly, it is important to remember that the earth and everything in it belong to GOD. This is a kingdom principle that the church should have implemented from day one. The fathers of the church should have guided and taught their flock to implement this principle from a Monday to a Friday so that the earth and everything in it should have belonged to GOD.
We are stewards of GOD and labourers in HIS vineyard.
Indeed heaven and the highest heavens belong to the Lord your God, also the earth with all that is in it.
1 Chronicles 29:11
Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, The power and the glory, The victory and the majesty; For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, And You are exalted as head over all.
If we go back to Genesis, where Adam and Eve managed the garden on behalf of GOD, it is clear that Adam did not need to own the property. Had they not sinned the earth would still have belonged to GOD and we all would have managed the earth like Adam and Eve. Heaven on earth.
They did however sin, after which the greed of flesh (sin) kicked in and man began to own land as an expression of wealth. They worked the soil to produce even more wealth and so it began; the rich got richer and the labourers got poorer. The earth and mankind were abused to create wealth as an expression of worth, which is not a kingdom principle.
“For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. (15) And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey. (16) Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents. (17) And likewise he who had received two gained two more also. (18) But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord’s money.”
The “Kingdom of Heaven” is compared to servants managing an owner’s property. Clearly the Kingdom of Heaven is not a place you go to after death; in fact, it is the way you should live to manifest the Heavenly Kingdom on earth.
“Hear another parable: There was a certain landowner who planted a vineyard and set a hedge around it, dug a winepress in it and built a tower. And he leased it to vinedressers and went into a far country. (34) Now when vintage-time drew near, he sent his servants to the vinedressers, that they might receive its fruit. (35) And the vinedressers took his servants, beat one, killed one, and stoned another. (36) Again he sent other servants, more than the first, and they did likewise to them. (37) Then last of all he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’ (38) But when the vinedressers saw the son, they said among themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and seize his inheritance.’ (39) So they took him and cast him out of the vineyard and killed him. (40) Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vinedressers?”
Now unfortunately, this is what the church fathers did to the earth (and South Africa is a perfect example of this parable). The vineyard is GOD’s territory, or in other words, HIS church. GOD entrusted the church into the hands of the church leaders, but they did not teach the church the kingdom principles (the ability to produce fruit at the right time, or how to implement the progressive Word of GOD at the right time so that the instruction can produce fruit). They only abused the church for own gain, thereby making it useless to GOD. The fruit of the church has never been Kingdom, and this is a big problem because GOD only lives and moves in a Kingdom.
They said to Him, “He will destroy those wicked men miserably, and lease his vineyard to other vinedressers who will render to him the fruits in their seasons.” (42) Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures: ‘The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone. This was the Lord’s doing, And it is marvelous in our eyes’? (43) “Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it.
The Church is not producing Kingdom fruit and GOD is very clear that HE will hand the Kingdom over to a nation (to manage it) that bears the fruit of the Kingdom!
You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not bear false witness,’ ‘Do not defraud,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’ ” (20) And he answered and said to Him, “Teacher, all these things I have kept from my youth.” (21) Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.” (22) But he was sad at this word, and went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. (23) Then Jesus looked around and said to His disciples, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!” (24) And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, “Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God! (25) It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” (26) And they were greatly astonished, saying among themselves, “Who then can be saved?” (27) But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.”
Yes, it is hard to give up everything you own especially if you have worked hard for it. But in truth it never belonged to you in the first place, you had a wicked spiritual father who did not teach you the kingdom principles. You were always only a steward and a servant of GOD and never an owner of the land. You used your GOD-given function to toil the earth successfully for your own gain and called that the blessing of GOD, much to the shame of GOD (keeping in mind the inequality of this country).
When your identity is determined by your possessions you will experience strife, but when your identity is in Christ “everything” is possible. This means that it is possible to manifest GOD’s Kingdom on earth.
At the second coming (where children of GOD will grow up into mature Sons of GOD) GOD will take back, through HIS Sons, what belongs to HIM – the earth and everything in it. Jesus Christ had the ability to enrich himself tremendously, but he never did because he lived for his FATHER; children, on the other hand, will enrich themselves and not ‘share’.
So, we have to start and implement kingdom principles again by first acknowledging the fact that we are stewards and servants, Sons in the house of GOD. We have to acknowledge that this earth belongs to HIM and HIM alone. We (Christ in Me International) have the privilege to be appointed by HIM and to live off HIS LAND. For the last couple of years, we structured companies and shareholding in such a way that it does not fall into any person’s personal estate. We are appointed stewards and live to manage that which belongs to GOD. All shareholding is vested in a trust and the beneficiary is a non-profit company with Leermeesters as members. It is your firstborn right to become a ‘Leermeester’, meaning a child who matured into a Son of GOD. We as Sons do not live for ourselves but live to manifest GOD’s Kingdom on earth. We do not put money in our back pockets nor do we have side deals; as a matter of fact, according to our balance sheets, we are poor… but we are free.
Why? Because there is a homeland, an inheritance, a land that GOD can bless and that we can live off. GOD can truly bless something that will bless HIM, showing the world that HE is not a partial GOD who only blesses a select few and thereby creating inequality.
And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God. (24) You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. (25) Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way? (26) For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
From all the available data, it is clear that the faith of the church needs to change because the works of that faith over the last three hundred and fifty (plus) years have only created inequality, poverty, and extreme oppression. This, however, is a global problem – with Christianity being the biggest religion in the world – and not only limited to South Africa. We have brought much shame to GOD with our works.
Praise the Lord! Praise, O servants of the Lord, Praise the name of the Lord! (2) Blessed be the name of the Lord From this time forth and forevermore! (3) From the rising of the sun to its going down The Lord’s name is to be praised.
But He kept silent and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked Him, saying to Him, “Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?“
GOD’s Name is blessed, and GOD says to Abraham in Genesis 22:17 “Blessing I will bless you”. What GOD is saying is this: ‘I will bless MY Name’, or ‘I will bless MYSELF’. GOD will always bless HIMSELF through you, but the honour will always be GOD’s.
GOD will bless HIS Name from now on. People will stream to HIM and HIS ways, HIS Kingdom and true liberty.
Previously saying, “Sacrifice and offering, burnt offerings, and offerings for sin You did not desire, nor had pleasure in them” (which are offered according to the law), (9) then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God.” He takes away the first that He may establish the second.
Are we here to make life a little better for the poor? No. Are we here to create more jobs to make the owners richer? No! We, as the wife of GOD, the one true Church, are now at this point – to do Your will, O God! We have moved on from the crucifixion (which GOD had no delight in) to establish the second part of this scripture (HIS delight). This is to establish the throne of David, GOD’s rule and reign as a KING over the earth that is HIS Kingdom.
But truly, as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord.
Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. (29) For our God is a consuming fire.
This is GOD’s will – for the whole earth (not heaven ONLY) to be filled with HIS ways – KINGDOM!
