When measuring the fruit of Christ in Me International, people tend to look at the dividing factor and not the implementing factor. Thus, some people wrongly conclude that Christ in Me International bears bad fruit.
To further explain, let us look at the following narratives taken from the “Does Christ in Me International break up families and marriages” article.
Once upon a time, there was a happily married agnostic couple with three small children. One day, they sat and watched a religious program about Jesus Christ, which stated that if you believe in the work of Jesus Christ on the cross, you would also become a Son of GOD. One parent believed this and became a devoted believer, the other parent stayed an agnostic. Due to their different views, they divorced.
Who was responsible for the divorce?
- Was it the parent who became a believer, because (s)he believed and subsequently changed?
- Was it the parent who did not change, because (s)he would not believe in what Jesus Christ did for him or her?
- Was it the Christian Organisation that produced the program?
- Was it GOD, because HE sent HIS firstborn Son to the cross so that many may pass over into the promise of Sonship?
Once upon a time, there was a family. They were devoted Muslim believers. One day, a family member read an article about Jesus Christ, which stated that if you believe in the work of Jesus Christ on the cross, you would also become a Son of GOD. The family member believed this and become a Christian, but due to fundamental differences in belief, this person ultimately lost contact with his family.
Who was responsible for the breakup of the family?
- Was it the Christian family member, because he chose to leave the Muslim faith?
- Was it the Family, because they chose to stay true to their faith?
- Was it the Christian Organisation that wrote the article?
- Was it the Christian publishing house responsible for the magazine?
- Was it GOD because HE sent HIS firstborn Son to the cross so that many may pass over into the promise of Sonship?”
From the two narratives, the answer is simple. It is GOD’s Word that brings separation! The reasonable conclusion would then be that GOD bears bad fruit. When HIS Word brings separation and ultimately breaks up marriages and families, it causes much pain and contention, which is considered a bad fruit according to Galatians 5. Or, perhaps this is the incorrect conclusion, in other words, maybe the way in which we measure fruit is incorrect? We all know GOD is good, even Jesus himself said that only GOD is good.
Mark 10:18 (NKJV)
So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God.
So how then are we supposed to measure fruit? The principle is plain and simple, you look at the tree. Different types of TREES produce different types of fruit. For example: an apple tree produces apples, or spiritually speaking, a person that believes he/she is a sinner (type of tree) will produce sin/not reflecting the Kingdom of GOD (fruit of the tree). A person who believes he/she is the offspring of GOD/Godkind (type of tree) will produce and manifest Kingdom on earth (fruit), as it is in Heaven.
Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them. “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
GOD’s Word divides people. HIS Word is the dividing factor. When you apply GOD’s instruction and ways you will change from a ‘Sinner tree’ to a ‘Godkind tree’. The fruit will only then testify of the tree that you have become. Good trees reflect the Kingdom of GOD, as in heaven so on earth. The focus is on the “Kingdom” part. This is GOD’s way. Heaven IS a Kingdom. Bad trees reflect everything but a Kingdom – this includes a democracy mentality with many opinions, because Heaven is not a democracy. Heaven is not run by different opinions and a voting system, therefore the Church of GOD on earth should also not be run by different opinions and a voting system.
When you measure a church’s fruit you look at its people (trees) over a period of time. Are they doing the will of GOD by manifesting the Kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven? Does everybody have only one opinion, the opinion of GOD? Are these people laying down their lives and taking up their new lives in Christ as ‘one-minded’ people?
Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
Kingdom trees produce: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control, as described in Galatians 5:22-23, because when people show these characteristics they are ‘one-minded’.
Democracy trees produce: idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies et cetera because different views produce ‘non-Kingdom-minded’ fruit.
All works of the flesh are linked to people having different opinions and therefore a different system to that of the Kingdom-of-Heaven ‘one-mindedness’. Different opinions are working against the Kingdom of GOD and are prolonging the coming of the LORD.
When you measure Christ in Me International, measure whether we implement and live for the Kingdom of GOD, where you will find good fruit. Yes, some marriages failed, and some families broke up because some chose to stay, and others chose to leave. This is the dividing factor of GOD, not the fruit. To measure the fruit, you need to come and get to know the people of Christ in Me International and experience the Kingdom of GOD.
GOD has only ONE dream:
HE wants to fill the earth with HIS glory (HIS view, judgement and opinion).
GOD has only ONE plan to achieve this dream:
HE has chosen mankind to be ‘IN CHRIST’ (the second Adam specie*).
GOD has only ONE strategy of enforcing this PLAN to achieve HIS dream:
The gospel of the GLORY of Christ (the second Adam specie*), who is the image of GOD, the Sons of Glory.
Psalms 24:1 (NKJV)
A Psalm of David. The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein.
GOD is not mysterious, but understandable; HIS ways are not a secret but were hidden until the right time.
GOD’s ways are not random; HE works with straightforward mathematics.
In Genesis, GOD started off with Adam and Eve, who were supposed to multiply whilst in the image of GOD. But they lost that image of GOD. Since that day, everything GOD did was done with the express purpose of implementing a recovery plan to return mankind to that which Adam and Eve lost – GOD and HIS creation in harmony, on earth (not in Heaven). This is GOD’s only desire.
Jesus Christ was part of that recovery plan. Whatever Jesus Christ did (as he only did what the FATHER told him to do) would further this recovery plan – to restore the earth to its original state, and mankind to GOD’s image. GOD would not give Jesus Christ or any of his prophets, servants or Sons any other instruction than to play their part in restoring the earth to its intended purpose, and mankind to HIS image. This is what GOD is busy with.
This is the mathematics of GOD.
Jesus Christ’s purpose is NOT to take you to heaven; it is mathematically incorrect! It does not add up (mathematically speaking) because that would mean that GOD abandoned HIS original plan with the earth and essentially abandoned the earth, which is unscriptural.
GOD’s equations always point to the same answer – HIS Kingdom on earth, as in Heaven; restoring the fallen state to a restored Kingdom state. We find ourselves in the fallen earth (old) and we, as Sons of GOD, are restoring the old to the new.
We now realise that the cross was only necessary because Adam and Eve fell. Jesus Christ’s work on the cross was not part of the original ‘playbook’, so to speak, it was only put in place afterwards to recover that which Adam lost or, as the word of GOD puts it:
2 Corinthians 5:18
Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.
If Adam and Eve did not fall then reconciliation would not have been necessary!
Are you starting to see the simple mathematics that GOD put in place for us to understand what HE is busy with?
The earth is a “work in progress” from a fallen state to a Heavenly state (the earth must reflect Heaven), that which Adam and Eve experienced in the beginning. The workers of this project are the Sons of GOD, those who only do what they see the FATHER do because that is the ONLY thing GOD is busy with.
When we look at the works of Jesus Christ, we are in fact looking at the works of GOD. Therefore, at that point in time when Jesus was being crucified, GOD was paying the price together with HIS Lamb, to reconcile mankind to HIMSELF through Jesus Christ. So, Jesus Christ fulfilled his mandate as a worker on the “project” two thousand years ago. He did what GOD asked him to do, reflecting what GOD was doing. The other workers NOW need to continue from where Jesus left the “site” (earth – a work in progress) so to speak because only a Son can reflect what GOD is busy with and the project needs to be finished.
It is very important to understand this equation, for you will need this CALCULATION when you continue to the Doctrines.
The Doctrines are the MATHEMATICAL PROOF of this statement.
This means that every single doctrine or principle that GOD revealed to us, is a mathematical sum that gives an answer. Each answer forms part of a greater equation.
And this greater equation only gives one answer: GOD IS FILLING THE EARTH WITH HIS GLORY (Num 14:21).
You will soon realise that although random Christian principles may sound justifiable standing alone (the trinity doctrine, for instance, or the belief that the plan of GOD is to take us to Heaven) they do not work together to give the answer of: GOD IS FILLING THE EARTH WITH HIS GLORY.
* The newly coined word ‘specie’ (derived from ‘species’) is used to emphasise the fact that there can be only ONE kind or sort (no variation).
We all grew up with the trinity doctrine that there is a ‘GOD the Father’, ‘GOD the Son’ and ‘GOD the Spirit’.
I could never quite grasp the concept of three-beings-in-one as one GOD. It also left me confused as to whom I should pray… Should I pray to the Holy Spirit to help me out of a situation, or to the Son to forgive my trespasses, and what should I pray to the Father, if at all? I asked these questions but was made to understand that it was not right to ask them and was told that I was rebellious because of these questions. The Scripture teaches us that no one can serve two masters (Matt 6:24), as he would automatically give more glory to the one than the other. I can testify to this… At times I gave more glory to the Son, although he said that no servant (referring to himself) was greater than his Master. Jesus Christ also said that a kingdom divided against itself will not stand. I interpreted that a kingdom could not be divided or have more than one Head, yet we divided GOD? Today, the church is divided because we divided GOD, thereby depriving GOD of power, as in unity lies strength.
This subject is probably one of the most sensitive subjects to discuss because the doctrine of the Triune God is the generally accepted doctrine amongst Christian denominations.
Whenever one would differ from the teaching of a Triune God one would immediately be classified with religions like Islam, Buddhism and Judaism – religions that do not believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of GOD, therefore not accepting him as the only sacrifice for sin.
On the other hand, when you do believe in Jesus Christ as the only sacrifice for sin and that he was born of a virgin and that he is the anointed Son of GOD, although not ‘GOD the son’, you are easily classified as a cult or a sect.
With this study, our aim is to not dig too deep into this doctrine theologically, because many theologians even disagree on this matter.
Ever since the Roman Catholic Council of Nicaea accepted a Triune God doctrine, by means of a vote, many Biblical translations and written works have been done from a Triune perspective. However, when we look at the studies and works of many theologians who lived in the years 120-325 AD (before the Council of Nicaea) we clearly see that many of them did not believe in a Trinity doctrine and differed with one another on several aspects.
Looking at what Jesus Christ and the Apostles taught in the Bible we cannot find such a doctrine, but rather the opposite (almost on every page of the New Testament).
In Christ in Me International we do not believe as the mainstream teaches. We believe in the one true GOD – the FATHER of Jesus Christ our Lord. You may ask, what about the Holy Spirit then? Well GOD is SPIRIT (John 4:24) and HE is holy. HE is not a SPIRIT with a Spirit. HE IS SPIRIT.
GOD expresses HIMSELF in diverse ways and sadly, because of some of these expressions, different identities have been attributed to GOD than that which is the one absolute truth. Here are a few simple examples:
There are various scriptures in the Bible that indicate and explain the Person of GOD, HIS identity and who HE is.
- GOD is Word (John 1:1)
- GOD is Spirit (John 4:24)
- GOD is Father (1 Cor 15:24)
From the above, we used to conclude that GOD was three. But the scripture also says:
- GOD is Light (1 John 1:5)
- GOD is Love (1 John 4:8)
According to this, there is already a five-in-one GOD?
- GOD is Judge (Ps 75:7)
- GOD is a consuming fire (Heb 12:29)
- GOD is King (Ps 47:7)
- GOD is sun and shield (Ps 84:11)
- GOD is Creator (Isa 40:28, Isa 43:15, Rom 1:25-27)
Is there now a ten-in-one GOD?
We misinterpreted the diverse ways that GOD expresses HIMSELF – to illustrate HIS fullness of functions – and we made it HIS identity. Thus, GOD became so divided, just naming a few make HIM at least a ten-in-one GOD. We combined and confused GOD’s Person with HIS functions.
Let us look at a familiar example in the natural. A man may have a wife and a son, making him a husband and a father (and since he was also born from a mother and a father, he is also a son). This, however, does not make him three individuals because of his different functions.
Scripture teaches us that the most important commandment is this: “Hear, O Israel, The LORD our God, the LORD is one“ (Mark 12:29 NKJV). This is quoted by Jesus from Deuteronomy 6:4.
Why do we divide GOD into three Beings or Persons when there are so many scriptures stating that GOD is one? The more we divide GOD the more we allow ourselves (even as the church) to be divided and to make allowance for differing from others under the pretence that GOD is divided (thus many denominations worldwide instead of one church). The common assumption is that we are ‘allowed to’ differ in opinion from one another because GOD (as three) differed from one another – for example, Jesus (the Son) praying against the will of his FATHER in Gethsemane. Was GOD then divided in HIMSELF? NO, because GOD is only one
Scripture also states that GOD cannot be tempted by evil, yet Jesus was tempted by the devil. Scripture is clear that there is only one GOD and FATHER of us all; there also should only be one church, one calling, one Spirit, one faith and one baptism (Eph 4:4-6). As Christians we seem to think that it is acceptable to differentiate between different church denominations; we may see these “one’s” Paul is referring to as “diverse” because GOD is “diverse”. It is commonly accepted to look from different angles at the same GOD, and still hit the mark. By accepting and allowing this, we are dividing GOD, going up against HIS most important commandment.
Let’s look at the general way this doctrine is explained.
This picture makes it very clear that both the FATHER and the Son, as well as the Holy Spirit are GOD, yet that the FATHER is not the Son and the Son is not the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit is not the FATHER.
With this in mind, it immediately causes a great confusion when just looking at the following two scriptures:
And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”
10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works 11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.
Thus, according to Trinity doctrine, Luke 3:22 says that ‘God the Son’ receives ‘God the Holy Spirit’ but according to John 14:10 it is ‘God the Father’ who lives in the Son, but God is not the Spirit?
There are no scriptures in the Bible that refer to a Trinity. The word “Trinity” does not even appear in the Bible. There are only two scriptures in the Bible that might seem to refer to a Trinity until you look at it without the ‘glasses of a Triune doctrine’.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Take note: It does not say “make disciples in our name”. It also does not say “make disciples in the name of the Father and in the name of the Son and in the name of the Holy Spirit”, referring to “three Gods”. Furthermore, it also does not say “baptize them in the names (plural) of …“
Here it clearly refers to one name. “Name” refers to “authority and character” in the Greek language. Let us look at the following example, there could be thousands of employees working at Sanlam but when one of them wants to sell a policy to anyone, he comes in the name of Sanlam – the authority of Sanlam, one name and one authority. Similarly, when a traffic cop pulls me off the road, he does so in the name of the government, with that authority.
The other scripture that seems to point to a possible Trinity doctrine is…
1 John 5:7
7 For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. 8 And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one.
Notice the two expressions used here… “are one” and “agree as one”. “Are one” means it is the same thing, whereas “agree as one” means that there are three different things that speak of the same thing. The Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit is one being… GOD HIMSELF.
‘But the Word is Jesus Christ’ you may say. This is not what Scripture teaches us. The Word is GOD and it lived in Jesus Christ first.
The two general ‘go to’ scriptures that are used to try and ‘prove’ that Jesus is GOD, are John 1 verses 1 and 14.
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
It is very important to understand that the word ‘Word’ in John 1 is the word logos (G3056) which is definitely not the word ‘Jesus’ translating to Iēsous/ Ἰησοῦς (G2424), meaning “Jehovah is salvation” according to Thayer’s Greek Lexicon.
John 1:1, 14 (NKJV)
1 In the beginning was the Word, G3056 and the Word G3056 was with God, and the Word G3056 was God.
14 And the Word G3056 became flesh and dwelt among [also translated as “in”] us, and we beheld His glory, [the Word’s glory, GOD’s glory] the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
This word “logos” is the same Word that we are born again from.
1 Peter 1:23
23 Having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word G3056 of God which lives and abides forever.
What about the virgin birth (thus supernatural conception) of Jesus?
The fact that Jesus, as son of man, was supernaturally born from Mary’s womb is not a valid argument with which to try and prove his divinity. Adam and Eve were also created supernaturally, even more supernaturally than Jesus. In Jesus’ case, he was at least born from the womb of a woman. Adam was created from the dust of the earth and Eve from Adam’s rib bone – and that did not make them GOD.
Even the prophecy over Jesus’ life in Isaiah 7:14 (that Jesus would be born of a virgin and would be called Immanuel, ‘GOD with us’), has no reference to Jesus being GOD. Jesus as Jesus Christ would eventually become the first man in whom GOD’s SPIRIT would dwell and through whom GOD would reveal HIMSELF in the earth. As was the case with Jesus Christ, each of us that is born of the SPIRIT of GOD can now also be called Immanuel, GOD with us.
The reference in Isaiah 9:5 that Jesus will be called: “Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace” also does not indicate that he is GOD.
Remember, Trinitarians teach that the Son is not the FATHER and the FATHER is not the Son, but Isaiah 9:5 says that Jesus would also be called the Everlasting FATHER… These are ‘spirit terms or functions’ that prophesied on what Jesus Christ would be called because of the indwelling of GOD’s SPIRIT after his baptism. It also applies to all of GOD’s Sons who would follow.
GOD is SPIRIT (John 4:24), HE does not have a Spirit, HE is SPIRIT… the Holy SPIRIT.
The moment when GOD’s SPIRIT becomes one with your spirit, is the moment when you are born again, and GOD becomes your FATHER and you become a Son of GOD because of HIS SPIRIT that is now joined with yours. As Jesus Christ was born of GOD, so every reborn Child of GOD is also born of GOD.
GOD is very clear when HE refers to Jesus Christ in the Bible – HE refers to him as HIS beloved Son. HE never introduced Jesus to us as GOD or a ‘co-God’. Jesus Christ also never introduced himself to us as GOD or ‘GOD the Son’. Jesus always referred to GOD as his FATHER.
If by any chance it might have been true that Jesus Christ was GOD, one would think that GOD (or Jesus himself then) would have introduced himself to us in that way. This is not the case. To try and prove that Jesus is GOD, one needs to drastically distort the Scriptures and form unmotivated linguistic arguments.
The question still remains, why would GOD withhold such a great and important truth from us, if indeed it was the case?
Christ in Me International teaches that:
- GOD is not a Triune GOD
- that Jesus is not GOD
- and that “in my name” means “in my authority”
…all of which were official views of many of the early church historians.
Please consider the following statements:
- Jesus never referred to himself as GOD, but to reiterate, he always called GOD his FATHER.
- There are more than forty scriptures in the Bible where Jesus Christ refers to GOD as his FATHER, but no scripture wherein he refers to himself as GOD.
- There is also no reference to him as ‘GOD the Son’, by himself or by any of the apostles.
- Jesus Christ teaches us that GOD is one GOD – our FATHER.
- Although Luke 3:22 says that the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form upon Jesus Christ, Jesus never refers to it as the Holy Spirit dwelling in him but always as the FATHER abiding in him.
10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. 11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me…
It has never been the mind of the Apostles that Jesus Christ is GOD. They always referred to GOD being the FATHER of Jesus Christ (Rom 15:5-6, 1 Cor 8:6, 2 Cor 1:2-3, 2 Cor 11:31, Eph 1:3, Col 1:3, 1 Pet 1:3).
Jesus Christ, therefore, does not teach us that the Holy Spirit is another God living inside him, but rather that it is the One True GOD – GOD who is SPIRIT (John 4:24), who is also his FATHER – who lives in him.
Please also see the following very simply stated arguments:
- Jesus prayed. Does GOD pray? If so, to whom would GOD pray? And why would Jesus need to pray if he was GOD?
- Jesus prayed to the FATHER, he did not worship himself.
- Jesus died on the cross (GOD cannot die).
- Jesus did the will of his FATHER, not his own will.
- Before he received the SPIRIT at his baptism, Jesus never did any miracles, nor did he tell any parables, according to the Bible. He only started with this from the day he received the SPIRIT of GOD. From there only, being anointed by GOD, he was able to do all things through Christ who strengthened him (Acts 10:36-38).
- If Jesus is GOD, then I am also GOD. Romans 8:29 says that Jesus was the firstborn of many sons to come. GOD is definitely not my brother; HE is my FATHER. Everyone who is born again (Jesus included), is born of the same Seed/Word/Logos (1 Pet 1:23).
- GOD says in Genesis 1:26 that man must reign on the earth. GOD will go against HIS own Word if Jesus is GOD on earth, for man was appointed to reign on earth.
- No one born from a woman was greater than John the Baptist. “Assuredly, I say to you, among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he” (Matt. 11:11). This included Jesus, for he himself was also born from a woman as a son of man.
- When Satan tempted Jesus, Jesus did not say to him that he (Satan) should worship him (Jesus). Jesus said to him: “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve’ “ (Matt 4:10).
- GOD is not a man nor a son of man. “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” (Num. 23:19). (Also see 1 Sam 15:29, Hos 11:9.)
- Jesus needed to learn obedience, he needed to grow to perfection and was called by GOD as High Priest… He was not born that way. 8 though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. 9 And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him, 10 called by God as High Priest “according to the order of Melchizedek” (Heb 5:8-10).
- If Jesus was GOD, then why was he given commandments from the FATHER? Why would GOD be giving commands to HIMSELF? 49 ”For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. 50 And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak” (John 12:49-50).
- Jesus never claimed the glory he possessed was his own but always acknowledged that he received it from the FATHER. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one (John 17:22). Now they have known that all things which You have given Me are from You (John 17:7).
- So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God (Mark 10:18). Take note, Jesus the son of man said this.
- And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” (Matt 27:46). GOD cannot forsake HIMSELF?
- Jesus was made (not born) Lord and Christ by GOD. “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.” (Acts 2:36)
- Does GOD have a father? It may sound silly to ask something like this, but the answer is a definite ‘NO’, because GOD is the FATHER. Take note, Jesus had a FATHER… GOD.
In response to arguments about John 1:18 that Jesus is GOD, please consider the following clarification:
No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.
No one has ever seen GOD, because GOD is SPIRIT and not flesh… which immediately makes the claim that Jesus was GOD null and void, since he was seen. Although the Bible says that GOD, in the time of Adam and Eve, dwelled in the garden and that they experienced HIM there, I assume that they never physically saw HIM. So also, was the case with Moses (and the other prophets), who still could not see GOD even though GOD spoke with him face to face, for GOD is SPIRIT and Moses was a fleshly man.
Jesus, the son of man, at the age of thirty was anointed by GOD at his baptism when the Holy SPIRIT descended on him and stayed on (in) him. (Acts 10: 36-38).
Here Jesus became the first, and in that time, the only Son of GOD on the earth, born from the Bosom/Word/Logos of GOD.
This indwelling of GOD‘s SPIRIT in Jesus Christ is the incarnation of the Word/Logos of GOD. This is where the Word/Logos of GOD, since the fall of Adam, became flesh again. From this “understanding“, from the Logos of GOD, from the same understanding of who and what GOD is –Jesus Christ started to reveal the FATHER in his actions and in his conduct.
Jesus was flesh and blood, born from the womb of the Virgin Mary, the forty-first generation (according to the genealogy register of Matthew 1). He, baby Jesus, was in the womb (bosom) of Mary and never in the bosom of the FATHER. (GOD is SPIRIT and Jesus is flesh.)
When Jesus at his baptism was anointed by GOD, when he was made Christ, “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ” (Acts 2:36) – he became the first, and at that time, the only Son of GOD on the earth, known as Jesus Christ, the forty-second generation (according to the genealogy register of Matthew 1).
A Son of GOD is someone whose spirit, like Jesus’ spirit, becomes one with GOD‘s SPIRIT, whom GOD anoints, who is made a Christ by GOD. No one without the SPIRIT of GOD can be a Son of GOD.
Jesus Christ was the first Son of GOD – the first of many Sons of GOD, brothers of Jesus Christ (Rom 8:29) in whom the Word of GOD would also become flesh… These are the revealed Sons of GOD (Rom 8:19) on whom creation eagerly awaits… Sons who are born from the bosom of the FATHER, who accurately declare and reveal HIM over all the earth, those in whom the Word/Logos of GOD become flesh.
Why is it important not to believe that Jesus is GOD?
For as long as the Church believes that Jesus is GOD, the Church will be without identity and will continue living as immature children without authority and therefore will remain unable to answer to our FATHER‘s dream – the earth to be filled with HIS glory.
Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child [nepios], does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all.
The word ‘child’ in Greek is nēpios and means: “an infant, little child, a minor, not of age, untaught, unskilled”. Whereas a mature Son of GOD is someone who grows up under proper education (under tutors and governors) into his divine/heavenly identity. From this position and authority, he is able to manage his FATHER’s ‘business’, in other words, to bring GOD’s dream into fulfilment.
As long as Jesus is exalted in our minds as ‘GOD the Son’ and we do not come to know him as ‘the Son of GOD’, the first of many sons of GOD, we will spiritually remain children and never grow into mature Sons of GOD. This will prevent GOD’s dream from coming into fulfilment on the earth.
We need to understand that we are equal in value to our older brother Jesus Christ, but different in function. If Jesus remains ‘GOD’ in our minds he will always be ‘more’ valuable than us, he will always be GOD’s only Son in our minds and we will therefore always remain spiritually immature children (nepios) that differ nothing at all from those who are slaves. We will never be able to possess our inheritance and become lords of all.
At the beginning of the Bible, we see the purpose that GOD had with earth and with man. Firstly, HE created man in HIS image and HIS likeness and clothed him with GOD’s glory (Gen 1:26, Rom 3:23, later in the Bible GOD states that the whole earth must be filled with the glory of GOD (Num 14:21). GOD’s glory is His view, HIS judgement and HIS opinion. It is evident that GOD wants the whole earth to be filled with HIS image and HIS likeness.
After the fall of Adam, the only man who had the image and likeness of GOD, was Jesus Christ. It is important to understand that it was never supposed to be only Adam (before the fall), just as it was also never supposed to be only Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ was the beginning of GOD’s restoration plan, which HE had in mind from the start – an earth filled with GOD’s image and likeness, not an earth filled with only one person bearing HIS image and likeness, who would take us to a better place one day.
The problem today is that Jesus Christ was put on this unreachable pedestal, where it was only him who could do the perfect will of GOD, where only he could be in the image and likeness of GOD. The longer this mindset is maintained, the more people make excuses for not being able to be the image and likeness of GOD. They reason that they can never be perfect because only Jesus Christ was perfect, and because of this belief GOD’s dream pays the price.
We, at Christ in Me International, believe in Jesus Christ, but we do not worship him as GOD but a the Son of GOD. This is very important to understand. When you believe in him, you believe in what he did for you, thus fulfilling his works in your life so that you can also be a Son of GOD, just like he was, your older brother. When you, however, worship Jesus as ‘GOD the Son’ it becomes impossible to be like him; besides, it is also unscriptural. Jesus Christ was sent to make you a Son of GOD, just as he was Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD. He was not sent, with all due respect, to drive the bus that takes us to Heaven. Jesus was sent to restore that which Adam lost. Jesus Christ was a ‘second Adam’. He was the origin of a specie*, just like Adam was.
Please understand this; there is always a Heaven and at the same time, an earth, and not only Heaven, or only earth. This means that whatever is going on in heaven should reflect on earth. Please also remember this; there will always be a heaven which will be made visible on this earth, as Jesus Christ confirms in his prayer in Matthew 6:10. This means that while you are on earth you should rule and reign as a Son “on earth, as it is in heaven”. It is pointless and downright heresy to believe and live your life with the expectation of going to a holiday destination called ‘heaven’ when you die.
Romans 8:19 beautifully states that everything that ever existed is waiting for the revealing of the Sons of GOD, not the Son (singular) but Sons (plural). Because a Son answers to the dream of GOD, as stated in Genesis, an earth filled with HIS glory…which reflects HIS image and likeness. Further on in the chapter, Paul explains what Son(s) he is referring too. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren (Rom 8:29 NKJV). Paul says that this “image” is the same image that Jesus Christ portrayed, that he was the first of these Sons (plural) and that we are destined to be that exact image.
Because of the work that GOD did through Jesus Christ, many of the fallen mankind will become Sons, exactly like Jesus Christ. In Hebrews 2:9-11 the writer states that Jesus Christ is not ashamed to call us his brothers because we are exactly like him when we carry that glory, because we carry the exact same Name that he carried. The name of the Father. A Son’s mandate is to represent the Father.
For us to understand this, we must understand that Jesus Christ had a natural and a Spiritual birth. Jesus was born without sin, supernaturally from the womb of Mary. Although he was born without sin, without the corruption of the fallen mankind, he was still born from flesh; it was still a natural birth, a natural body. On the other hand, Jesus had to be born again from heaven so that he might receive the SPIRIT of GOD to become a Spiritual man. Paul beautifully explains the concept of the natural and spiritual in 1 Corinthians 15:40-49. If we understand this, we will understand that the exact same process needs to happen to us. We were born from our earthly mother and father (in the natural), furthermore, we must be born again from our heavenly FATHER and mother (in the Spiritual). GOD never ever steps over the line; HE never crosses the spirit-flesh line. Flesh is always corruptible, meaning it grows old! GOD cannot grow old. GOD is always SPIRIT! Jesus’ body also grew older, but Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD is spirit and does not grow old. That spirit is also not male or female and does not have an age (Gal 3:28). When Scripture says, ‘And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us’ (John 1:14), the true meaning becomes clear. The will of GOD ‘as it is in Heaven, so also on earth’ becomes visible through a fleshly body – the Spirit man (everlasting) inside the fleshly body (corruptible).
Thus, there is no difference between you and me and Jesus Christ, or rather, there should be no difference. He was our example of what the specie* should look like when they are born again.
1 Cor 15:45-49 states that Jesus Christ was the first heavenly man born from above and that we will bear the same image as the first heavenly man.
Paul addresses an important principle in Philippians 2:5-9, that we should have the same mind as Jesus Christ had and not count it robbery to be equal to GOD. Why would Paul say this? Because people think that they are making GOD less when they say that they are equal with GOD. Usually right about here, we want to shout “blasphemy!” But this is exactly why Paul teaches us this principle. Please understand that there is a difference between function and value. In Function, GOD is GOD and we will never be equal to HIS Function. But in value, we are HIS offspring. We are HIS kind, HIS type, HIS equal value. Let us look at a natural example for clearer understanding; when a lion gives birth, it gives birth to a baby lion, not a baby dolphin. It gives birth to the same value and kind as what it is (Gen 1:11). When we say ‘equal in value’ we say that what is birthed from GOD, is the Godkind. A human baby is considered just as valuable as his or her father or mother, no matter the fact that the baby is not contributing to society yet. If you murder a baby, you will receive the same punishment as when you murder a full grown human being, regardless of age or function. All humans are considered equal because they are the same species. In the same manner, when GOD is your FATHER you are the same in value. This is essential for the earth to be filled with the fullness of GOD. And no matter the things you do, you can never lose your specie* description. No matter how bad you think you are, you will always be the Godkind. If Jesus Christ was the first of many – and Philippians 2:5 states that we should have the same mind as the first of our kind – then this is exactly what we should believe and be. Christ in a seed(offspring) of GOD, and Jesus became the 1st one born from above, the seed of Christ.
1 John 4:17 states that as GOD is, so are we in this world. What GOD looks like is what Jesus Christ came and showed us. Now, each of us must show what GOD looks like.
Jesus Christ was the image and likeness of GOD two thousand years ago. Today, we should also be the image and likeness of GOD, so that every school, company and sports team, to name a few, may be filled with the invisible GOD through HIS visible Sons.
Unfortunately, incorrect teachings taught us that we are only Sheep (and as sheep we bleat). The opposite is true however, we are Lions, Sons of the MOST HIGH GOD and we must ROAR!
* The newly coined word ‘specie’ (derived from ‘species’) is used to emphasise the fact that there can be only ONE kind or sort (no variation).
We all boldly proclaim that we belong to GOD, that we live for HIM alone, that HE is our GOD and we are HIS Sons, that we do not live for ourselves anymore, but that GOD lives through us. But, do we ever take a moment to consider what this really means?
If this is true, then what we are actually saying is, that our body, our thoughts, our voice, our dreams and aspirations, our ‘everything’ belongs to GOD. GOD is the owner of our lives and we are only the managers. It means that only GOD can make decisions when it comes to our lives as it is HIS ‘life’ now. Yes, maybe fewer people would be Christians today had they heard this truth and not only the ‘Hell and Heaven’ message. To belong to GOD is serious business, definitely not for the faint-hearted.
So how does this process work? How do we make sure we are in the will of GOD? Through HIS word – which is GOD’s thoughts, HIS actions and HIS judgement over a given situation or matter. When we pray about a specific matter, we do not merely pray and hope for the best. No, we pray and wait for an answer from GOD as to what HIS word is concerning this matter in our lives (which is HIS property now).
So, do we need permission from GOD before we do anything? Let Jesus’ words in John 5 from verse 19 answer this question. A Son can do nothing of himself. A Son only does what he sees the FATHER doing. A Son only speaks what the FATHER speaks. He only judges as the FATHER judges.
If you want to be a good steward that GOD can trust with HIS whole kingdom then you only move when you have a word from GOD, when you have HIS permission – not Christ in Me International’s permission.
Let us look at an example very familiar to us all.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says that our body belongs to GOD. So, who should give the word, or the ‘permission’, when we want to marry someone? Who should give the word, or the ‘permission’, if and when to have children? GOD! You do not need permission from Christ in Me International. That decision rests with GOD. We do, however, encourage our covenant people to come to the appointed leadership of GOD so that they can confirm what they feel GOD has shared with them. Paul teaches us in 2 Corinthians 13:1 that every word needs to be established by two or three witnesses.
No-one needs permission, but we do need confirmation. Why? Because, when you move on a word from GOD, you eliminate wrong choices, and secondly, you learn how to hear the voice of GOD accurately. By making choices on your own accord, you are in fact proclaiming that GOD is not the owner of your life.
But why should we ask the appointed leadership?
When we believe in the finished work of Jesus Christ we are saved, but that does not mean that we are already where we are supposed to be. We are still “children” that need to grow up to full maturity. Nothing changed in your natural state, only in our Spiritual state. Although the fullness of the inheritance is ours from that moment on, we are not yet mature enough to rule and reign over our inheritance. When we are saved we do not have the mind of Christ yet, it is a process where we need to grow to the fullness of Christ (Eph 4:13). Therefore, Paul teaches us this principle in Galatians 4:1-2. While we are still growing to maturity to the fullness of Christ, we are put under the authority of guardians and stewards on behalf of GOD, until the time appointed by HIM when we reach the fullness of the mind of Christ. The guardians and stewards have already grown to perfection (Heb 5:9), they have already grown to the fullness of the mind of Christ (1 Cor 2:16) and have been appointed by GOD to rule over the inheritance. They are therefore able to accurately confirm the word of GOD for us (Heb 1:2, Rom 13:1, 2 Cor 10:13).
When we have GOD’s stamp of approval on our choices, we put GOD in control of the outcome. This is the will of GOD and it protects us from the outcome of decisions that were not in line with HIS will. It helps us to always hit the mark.
Proverbs 15:22 (NKJV)
22 Without counsel, plans go awry, But in the multitude of counselors they are established.
Growing up, we were taught that Christ was the ‘surname’ of Jesus. We were also taught that Christ had the same meaning as GOD and therefore is GOD.
Christ is not GOD and Christ is also not the surname of Jesus, but rather an explanation of what Jesus was. While Christ can be used as a noun, it is mostly used in the Bible as an adjective that describes a noun. Hence, Jesus (noun) who is a Christ (adjective).
When we look at the meaning of the word ‘Christ’ in the original text that the Bible was written in, we see that it means “anointed”. In English, we have two words for anointed while the Greek text has only one word, christos, and in Hebrew, it is the word mâshı̂yach. You will find many references in the Old Testament of individuals who GOD called mâshı̂yach, including David (2 Sam 22:51, Ps 18:50), the King of Cyrus (Isa 45:1) and the prophecy of the coming messiah who would also be a mâshı̂yach. Through this, we see that GOD promised that HE would not deliver us through an individual but through HIS anointing carried by HIS anointed (plural not singular, Ps 28:8-9). How did a person become an anointed? By being anointed with oil – which was a type of what would come.
The practice of anointing with oil in the Old Testament was used as a symbolic act for setting apart a person for a certain leadership function and to bring a message from GOD which anointed him or her. This was a one-time event much like an inauguration or ordination. Objects could also be sanctified or dedicated to GOD, by anointing it with oil (Ex 29:36, Num 7:1). It was also used as a healing ointment (Isa 1:6, Jer 8:22).
Thus, anointing oil was used to anoint Kings (1 Sam 10:1), Priests (Ex 28:14) and Prophets (1 Kings 19:16) as well as sprinkling the tabernacle and its furnishing to mark them as holy, sanctified and set apart to the LORD (Lev 8:10).
The ingredients for the oil are mentioned in Scripture but never the method and the specific quantities used in making the oil, thus nobody can reproduce it. Anyone attempting to make the holy anointing oil will be cut off from the people (Ex 30:32-33). Why? Because, when it comes to GOD’s anointing, it is exclusive. You cannot fake it or buy it. It comes from HIM alone.
When we read Hebrews 5:1 we see that “every high priest (is) taken from among men (and) is appointed for men in things pertaining to God”. Aaron was taken from among men and anointed as high priest, and according to Exodus 30 we see that all the sons must be anointed with the same oil. The same oil that anointed Aaron is the same oil for all the people. Aaron represented the people, the whole specie* of mankind in the things pertaining to GOD. The same oil that was poured over the head of Aaron is the same oil that ran down his beard to the bottom of his hem (representing the whole body). The whole body receives the same oil. Aaron was the natural high priest of the natural specie.
The spiritual is not first, however, but the natural and afterward the spiritual (1 Cor 15:46). Accordingly, we know and understand that the physical type of anointing with oil, even the anointing of the high priest and the sons, was only a shadow of the Spiritual to come (Col 2:17, Heb 10:1).
Again, when we read Hebrews 5:1 we know now that a high priest is taken from men. Jesus was taken from mankind and anointed to be the first of a new specie. Jesus Christ is the Spiritual high priest of a Spiritual specie. We as the Sons of GOD have the same anointing as our high priest, Jesus Christ. He was the first of many brethren. This anointed specie is confirmed when we read the genealogy of Christ in Matthew 1. The last generation that will be is the Christ or anointed generation (Matt 1:17).
All this is important to understand so that we may understand what made Jesus a Christ and why he is not the only Christ. But he is the origin of the specie, the alpha of the specie.
Let us also look at the definitions of the word Christ so that we may better understand exactly what it means when the Bible uses the word Christ and why and when it was used.
The word ‘Christ’ is the Greek word Christos with the numerical number of G5547 meaning:
- Important to note is that the word Christ is an adjective, which means it describes something of the Name to which it is JOINED!
Can you see that the word Christ simply means anointed?
The base word of Christos is the Greek word Chrio (G5548) which means:
- To anoint
- Consecrating Jesus to the Messianic Office and furnishing him with the necessary powers for its administration
- Rubbing / smearing with oil
The anointing that Jesus received is what gave him the ability to be what he was. The anointing appointed him.
The base word of Chrio is the Greek word Chraomai (G5530) which means:
- To receive a loan
- To take for one’s use, to make use of a thing
- Light upon
This word explains it beautifully that you are not born with it but will/must receive it.
The base word of Chraomai is the Greek word Cheir (G5495) which means:
- By means of one, God’s might/power/activity
- A means or instrument
This is the first building block for the word Christ as the anointing is GOD. A Christ is anointed by GOD with GOD (HIS SPIRIT)
In Luke 2:11 we read of a prophecy where, at his birth, Jesus is referred to as a Lord and a Christ. Why do we say this was only a prophecy? Because, when we understand what a Christ is we will understand that this was a prophecy over Jesus’ life. Acts 2:36 says that Jesus was made both Lord and Christ. He was made this, not born this. Again, keep the definition of what a Christ is in mind. To establish what is Christ and why Jesus was not born a Christ we must go and study when Jesus was made a Christ and a Lord.
This is beautifully summarised in Acts 10:36-38 (NKJV).
36 The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ–He is Lord of all–37 that word you know, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, and began from Galilee (not Bethlehem where baby Jesus was born) after the baptism which John preached: 38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
The base word of Christ is the act of anointing. To become a Christ, you need to be anointed. This is exactly what happened at the baptism of Jesus. GOD anointed Jesus with HIS SPIRIT making him a Christ (anointed). This is important to understand because, even though Jesus had a supernatural virgin birth and although he was born without sin, he was still a man born of dust, born from flesh (1 Cor 15:40-49) and he had to become Spirit by being born again from heaven (1 Cor 15:40-49). His supernatural birth did not make him GOD, just as Adam’s supernatural creation did not make him GOD. Again, therefore we say that Luke 2:11 was a prophecy as we can clearly see that Jesus, although without sin, only became a Christ at his baptism. He was made a Christ, not born a Christ. Before the baptism it was Jesus of Nazareth, after the baptism, it was Jesus Christ.
Acts 2 beautifully states that Jesus was not born a Christ but made a Christ.
1 John 2:20 states that we also have an anointing and then further on in verse 27 John explains that this anointing comes from GOD and it abides in us. This anointing teaches us. We also know that the Spirit from GOD abides in us and teaches us (John 14:26). This is because the anointing is the SPIRIT of GOD. 21 Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, 22 who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee (2 Cor 1:21-22).
As Jesus was anointed with the SPIRIT of GOD and was made a Christ, so also every born-again Child of GOD is anointed with the SPIRIT of GOD, making each an anointed, a Christ.
This is what the cross of Jesus Christ made possible. It made it possible for us to pass over from a one Adam specie to a second Adam specie.
Paul explains this in 1 Corinthians chapter 15.
And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural, and afterward the spiritual. The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Lord from heaven. As was the man of dust, so also are those who are made of dust; and as is the heavenly Man, so also are those who are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man. (1Co 15:45-49 NKJV-)
Because of the cross of Jesus Christ, we can bear the image of the heavenly man. This also shows us that we carry the same anointing as our high priest Jesus Christ. We bear the same image, we bear the same anointing.
We read this beautiful scripture in Matthew 16:16 when GOD reveals to Peter what a Christ is. Peter answers Jesus by saying “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God”, because a Son of the living GOD is a Christ. And this Sonship was not only exclusive to Jesus Christ as Hebrews 2:10 puts it, For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. Many!
Now that we understand that a Christ is an anointed we need to understand that Christ is also a specie*, it is a kind. Therefore, a Christ specie* is an anointed specie. In the book of Galatians Paul writes the following, now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “And to your Seed,” who is Christ. (Gal 3:16).
This is very important. The “seed of promise” is Christ. But Paul is quoting the promise made to Abraham and when we go look at that promise we can see that this is one kind, but many individuals of the same kind – as many as the stars… Moses writes.
15 And he brought him forth abroad, and said, look now toward heaven, and count the stars (plural), if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed (singular) be (Gen 15:5 KJV). This is so beautiful as this is the exact formula GOD used during HIS creation in Genesis 1. Moses, explaining GOD’s formula, writes the following.
11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. (Gen 1:11-12).
In the seed lies the potential to bring forth more of the same kind and type as the seed, the same specie.
John quotes Jesus in chapter 12 of his book, where Jesus Christ is using GOD’s creation formula to explain what will happen with him as a seed. 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit (John 12:24). Jesus Christ died as a seed, as a kind, so that the seed will bring forth a harvest according to the same kind, the Christ kind, the Christ specie. We are born again if we believe in the work of the cross, to mature our mind as a Spiritual specie to salvation
Paul uses the same analogy when explaining the difference between the different births that mankind will go through.
47 The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Lord from heaven. 48 As was the man of dust, so also are those who are made of dust; and as is the heavenly Man, so also are those who are heavenly. 49 And as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man (1 Cor 15:47-49 NKJV).
We will bear the image of the kind that is born from above, just as Jesus Christ who was the first thereof. Jesus was born from Mary, of dust, whereas Jesus Christ was born from above at the baptism as the heavenly man. This example also applies to each one of us, we will bear the same image as the heavenly man when we are born from the same seed. We will be a Christ, the harvest of the first seed (Jesus Christ).
Mankind was always destined to be the image and likeness of GOD covered by HIS glory.
The gospel of the glory of Christ will forever be the image of GOD. This is the destiny of every ambassador of Heaven, born from the Seed of GOD. Each Seed of GOD is a Christ specie, a Christ kind.
Our High priest, Jesus Christ, was the first anointed one. We have to carry the same anointing; otherwise, we will be an illegitimate part of the people of GOD.
* The newly coined word ‘specie’ (derived from ‘species’) is used to emphasise the fact that there can be only ONE kind or sort (no variation).
