The world, and the earth is in the worst state it has ever been. Anarchy (disorder and lawlessness) reigns through man in his fallen state. GOD and godliness are nearly invisible on the earth, but why is it so? What needs to happen for change to take place on an enormous scale? And when would this happen? When will the Kingdom of GOD be visible on earth?
Right in the beginning of creation, in Genesis, GOD expressed HIS dream with mankind and the earth.
Genesis 1:26-28 (NKJV)
26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
Due to the fall of Adam and Eve, mankind lost the position of righteousness and remained in a fallen state. The mind of man became corrupt because of a different knowledge to that which GOD intended him to have. GOD intended mankind to only ever have the knowledge of life, instead, man obtained the knowledge of good and evil and as a result, sin entered the world. And when sin came, we all fell short of the glory of God (Rom 3:23). The word ‘sin’ is the Greek word hamartia, which also refers to “being without share in” or “to miss the mark” (as the “mark” would be the will of GOD expressed in Genesis 1:26-27, a mature son of GOD in the state or position of righteousness). Hamartia is not a verb, therefore not descriptive of works of the flesh – but a noun, therefore descriptive of the position of sin. There are two spiritual positions man could find himself in, either the position of sin or that of righteousness.
GOD created mankind as a spirit being with a soul (mind), contained in a fleshly (carnal) body.
27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, 28 so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.
Reference is made here to two instances of salvation – or rather, of redemption once and salvation a second time. What does this mean? Was the completed work of Jesus Christ not enough to save us? Why do we need to be saved again? What is this “salvation a second time”?
Let us look at what this means exactly:
Jesus Christ paid the sacrifice for sin, once, for all (Heb 10:10) so that those who believe in this work (Rom 10:10) may become Children of GOD, sanctified forever. Through his blood, we received the redemption or salvation from sin. This means we have been spiritually purified of the position of sin and have been dedicated to GOD spiritually. Through this, we have received GOD’s SPIRIT. (GOD only lives in that, which has been sanctified forever; HE can have no part with sin.) Colossians 1:12-13 refers to that fact, that because of the work of the mediator Jesus Christ, GOD the FATHER was able to deliver us from the power of darkness and convey us into the kingdom of the Son of HIS love, thereby reconciling us to HIMSELF. This work qualified us (because we have been sanctified) to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. Because we have been sanctified, the SPIRIT of GOD the FATHER could come and live in us, making us the temple or dwelling place of GOD; we were reborn as new spiritual creations, created in true holiness and righteousness according to GOD. Because sin was punished once at the cross, GOD was able to make us HIS righteousness, spiritually (2 Cor 5:21). Nothing we do can make this undone. The work was perfect and the gift from GOD eternal. The Cross had a function to move us from one position to another…now the mind needs to follow for the fruit of righteousness to become visible.
In scriptures like Mark 1:24, Luke 4:34 and Acts 3:14 we see that Jesus Christ was the first ‘saint’ or ‘Holy One of GOD’ (translated in Greek as hagios, meaning “most holy thing, pure, blameless, ceremonially consecrated”) and through the completed work on the cross, we too could become saints (holy ones).
As all reborn Children of GOD, we should only have one view, judgement and opinion. Why then are there so many opinions on what truth is in the church? So many divisions (denominations) and many heads instead of one? The answer to this question lies in the soul of man. Unfortunately, the spiritual things (from GOD) are ‘filtered’ by the soul based on inaccurate knowledge (good and evil) opinion, strongholds and various references and traditions we have acquired through life. The soul, therefore, does not ‘filter’ outward nor reflect the Spirit inside of us accurately or unanimously. When the soul is saved, however, we will all have one view, judgement and opinion – that of GOD – and the church will be one.
As seen in Hebrews 9:27-28 quoted above, the first coming of Christ was for the redemption from the position of sin in the spirit (that which fell short of the glory of GOD) – whereas the second coming of Christ will be for the salvation of the soul (that which would manifest the glory of GOD). This salvation would appear to mankind and teach or instruct us to deny ungodliness (carnal mind) and to manifest the righteousness, which characterises and epitomises our Spirit man (created according to GOD).
24 Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.
On the Third day a specie* rises up with him… a harvest of Sons.
In other words, our spiritual righteousness needs to manifest through the mind of man. Every reborn Christian is predestined to manifest the Spirit man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of HIM who created him (Col 3:10, Eph 4:22-24). This is renewal in the spirit of the mind. This is salvation and the fruit of this will be in unity in view, judgement and opinion regarding all aspects pertaining to truth. Through this process – salvation or saving of the soul – man will lay down the mindset of man (which grows in corruption) and obtain the mindset of GOD (which is incorruptible) and think, feel and act exactly as GOD does, thus enabling man to represent GOD fully on the earth. All of mankind will then be the image of the invisible GOD – the brightness of GOD’s glory and the express image of HIS PERSON (Gen 1:26, Col 1:15, Heb 1:3). As we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly man. The carnal mindset of man cannot please GOD and is enmity with GOD (Rom 8:5-7).
1 Corinthians 2:9-16
9 But as it is written:
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
13 These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. 16 For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
1 Peter 1:9-10
9 receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls. 10 Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you
The purpose of the redemption from sin (or saving of the spirit) was so that we could obtain the salvation of the soul. Peter writes here that this salvation is the end and purpose of our faith.
Paul explains in Philippians 2:12-16 to the saints (those already sanctified spiritually) that we need to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling, so that we can manifest GOD on the earth. He is not referring to spiritual redemption, as that was a free gift from GOD through a work completed once for all by Jesus Christ. The saving of the mind, however, is the responsibility of man himself, as described in Romans 12:1-2 – but the correct knowledge of GOD and of HIS dream, plan and strategy is required for this work to be successful. This knowledge would come at the revelation of the distinction between Jesus, the flesh being, and Jesus Christ, the spirit being (1 Pet 1:3-12). This is also what Paul is referring to in Colossians 3 and 1 Corinthians 15:46-54.
Peter also admonishes the church to be diligent to make our call and election sure, for such an entrance will be supplied to us abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ (2 Pet 1:10-11).
GOD’s dream and desire (in other words, HIS will) has always been to have many Sons with HIS mindset in their habitation (Heb 2:10-11). This is how the heavens will manifest on the earth; the Sons of GOD will build HIS Kingdom and therefore manifest HIS will through HIS way of thinking and doing on the earth, by bringing back ONE knowledge versus many different opinions. This would start when Day 7 and Day 3 arrive simultaneously on GOD’s clock and calendar – signalling the time of the arrival of the second coming of Christ – the day of the Lord.
* The newly coined word ‘specie’ (derived from ‘species’) is used to emphasise the fact that there can be only ONE kind or sort (no variation).
